Students from Forfar and Kirriemuir are well represented among Dundee College prize-winners this year.
From make-up to millinery, hospitality to heating engineering, students from Dispatch & Herald territory represented a wide range of courses including beauty therapy and engineering.
Up to 70 students were invited to attend the first ever Dundee College prize-giving ceremony to be staged at the Gardyne Theatre on the college’s Gardyne Campus last Wednesday – and more than ten per cent of them were from Forfar and Kirriemuir.
Local prize-winners included:-
Apex Hotel Prize: Most Outstanding Student on NQ Hospitality Course – Ashley Storrier (Forfar); 1st year Beauty Therapy Award, 1c – Angela Nicol (Kirriemuir).
HNC Fashion Make-up – Gail Smith (Forfar); HNC Beauty Therapy Award, 1a – Margaret Bruce (Forfar).
Norman Fraser Design Trust Prize – Anthony Bruce (Forfar).
Dundee & Angus Master Plumbers’ Association Prize – Fraser Anderson (Forfar).
Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineers Award – Stephen McVicar (Kirriemuir).
Bonnet Maker Craft Prize (Commended) – Ashleigh Miller (Forfar); Chartered Institute of Building Scotland Dundee Centre Award: HND Architectural Technology – Stuart Hutchison (Kirriemuir).
