Scottish TV veteran Mrs Mack, is encouraging Forfar locals to visit the town’s newly launched Specsavers Hearing Centre, based in Specsavers’ Castle Street store.
The new hearing service will operate across Tayside, with regular clinics in Specsavers’ Forfar, Perth, Arbroath and Dundee stores.
Take The High Road star, Gwyneth Guthrie, who played the straight-talking Scot in the soap from 1987 to 1995, had her own hearing tested to mark the launch of the new service.
The actress put her hearing to the test when she took to the hot seat in the Dundee clinic as the Tayside service’s first customer for a free hearing check-up.
Gwyneth said: “Mrs Mack was never shy of sending someone off with a ringing remark in their ear and after many years of working in TV, with so much hustle and bustle and noise, this was the perfect opportunity for me to have a hearing check.”
David Parsons, director of Hearcare at Specsavers Hearing Centres, said: “Specsavers has been part of the Forfar community for many years so it’s incredibly exciting to expand our offering to take care of locals’ eyes and ears.
“We’ve made an investment to offer more people across the area a quality, convenient and thorough hearing assessment, hearing aid and aftercare service. We’re thrilled to offer our experience and innovative digital hearing aids to a wider audience.”
