Specsavers Hearing Centre in Forfar is using Deaf Awareness Week (May 19 to 25) to educate the community about hearing problems.
It will offer free three-minute hearing check-ups throughout the week.
Run annually by the UK Council on Deafness, the week aims to remove the stigma around hearing problems and encourage people to be mindful of the barriers caused by hearing-related issues.
David Parsons, audiologist at Specsavers said: “Statistics show one in six people in the UK are deaf or hard of hearing. People who are deaf or have other hearing problems can suffer from a lack of confidence, isolation and depression due to barriers in communication. By raising awareness of the issues they face and highlighting ways we can all be more socially responsible, we can make a tremendous difference.”
