A Scots Songs of Praise is to be held at Glamis Kirk on Sunday, September 29 at 6.30 p.m., led by the Angus Strathspey and Reel Society.
It will comprise hymns set to old Scots melodies, played by the fiddlers, and has been organised by Glamis, Inverarity and Kinnettles Parish Church.
The congregation is played in to fiddle slow airs and thereafter there will be readings in Scots and hymns sung to timeless melodies.
The hymns are to be introduced by Mr Sandy Ingram.
There is a spot where the fiddlers do their own thing and special guests on the evening will be the Glamis Primary School choir which, in recent times, has distinguished itself in choir competitions.
There is even a dialogue in the Doric.
Finally, the fiddlers play out the congregation to some lively tunes. Refreshments will then be served.
