Highland Pony Society President Marguerite Osborne from Kirriemuir will attend the National Service of Thanksgiving in St. Paul’s Cathedral next Tuesday to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

After the service she and her daughter, Dr Aylwin Pillai. will then attend a reception in the Guild Hall.

Marguerite farms cattle and sheep on her 1100 acre estate with husband, Rowan and youngest daughter Virginia, as well as running her own Highland Pony Stud. She has been invited to the Service of Thanksgiving in her role as President of the Highland Pony Society.

Marguerite enjoys breeding and competing her own Na Dailach Highland Ponies. The stud has three stallions and three foals on the ground this year. She was thrilled when Her Majesty complimented one of the Na Dailach ponies at Windsor after winning the Mountain and Moorland (excluding Welsh) Driving Pony of the Year. As well as enjoying her role as Highland Pony Society President, Marguerite is employed as Secretary of the Clydesdale Horse Society. She has further served as Vice Chair of the Scottish Equestrian Breeders Association, and sits on the National Pony Society Mountain and Moorland Committee. She is a judge on the Highland Pony Society, the National Pony Society and the British Show Pony Society panels.
