A group of 23 visitors from Forfar’s twin town of Chabanais arrived in town on Friday.

Most of the group of 11 couples and one grandson visiting from the town, in the Charente area, have been to Forfar before but there are also some who are making their first trip.

Their welcome lunch, thrown by the local twinning committee, included Forfar bridies as well as other local delicacies.

A varied programme has been organised, including visits to Stirling Castle and Rosslyn Chapel as well as local excursions in Angus, Fife and Perthshire. On Saturday, August 2 there will be a visit to the ‘First in France’ commemorative event at Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre and a traditional evening of food, drink and Scottish dancing at Kirriemuir Golf Club.
