COMMUNITY Police officers in Forfar are urging the town’s youngsters to make the most of free football on offer at Station Park.
The Bank of Scotland’s Midnight League, supported by Scottish FA Youth Football, is organised by qualified Scottish FA coaches.
It will begin on Friday, March 1, and runs to Friday, May 10, (excluding April 5 and 12), and is held every week at Station Park from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m.
The free football sessions feature a five-a-side game every week and participants, who must be aged between 12 and 16, can attend as a group or individually. They will be guaranteed games every week.
Community liaison officer Constable Ally Smith encourages the town’s youth to make the most of this opportunity, which sits well with the other successful diversionary projects in the town.
These include the Friday Night Project which is held at the Lochside Leisure Centre, and the Hedzup Motor Cycle Project at Forfar Academy. Further information on the midnight leagues is available from Scott Nicoll, assistant football development on (01307) 474244 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
