Those who took part in the 2013 Kirriemuir Relay for Life have spoken of how moved they were at the Candle of Hope ceremony on the Saturday evening (see story opposite).
On our Forfar and Kirriemuir Facebook pages they all agreed they found the whole experience extremely moving, and one which they hoped to repeat again.
Among those who commented was Angie Mackenzie, who posted a comment on our Forfar site.
She said: “Had a great time. It was so well organised and there was great entertainment throughout. Well done to all the organisers and everyone who took part.
“I enjoyed the fact that people were mingling around the tents a bit more with the variety of stalls, activities etc - a great idea.”
The event began at noon on the Saturday with an emotional lap of honour by 42 cancer survivors, and the walking did not stop until noon on the Sunday.
As darkness fell on Saturday, those who have lost the battle with cancer and those who have survived were remembered and celebrated at the poignant Candle of Hope ceremony. Further information for Relay for Life is available from.cancerresearchuk.org/relay
