The Forfar branch of Royal British Legion Scotland is appealing to members to come forward with their stories about who they will be remembering this Remembrance Day.
While the priority this year is the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, which so important to remember, next year will be the 70th anniversary of the end of the the Second World the War.
Victory in Europe (V-E) Day will be marked on May 8 while Victory over Japan (V-J) Day falls on August 15 and Forfar and the surrounding districts have quite a high percentage of serving and ex-service personnel.
The Forfar Branch can and is keen to support them in more ways than one and is keen to unearth local stories to feature in the national magazine, Legion Scotland Today.
Margaret Brown, branch secretary, said: “We are looking for stories from members about who they will be remembering on Remembrance Day.
“Whether it’s a relative, friend or comrade, we want stories for the magazine. Send your story in no more than 200 words, along with a photo of you and a photo of the person you’ll be remembering, to firstname.lastname@example.org
