It is that time of year again when the Angus Federation SWRI stages its annual competitive exhibition of work and flowering bulbs.
This year the show will be held in the Reid Hall, Forfar, on Friday, March 21 and Saturday, March 22.
Frances Gazzard, press secretary of the Federation said: “On show will be over 1,000 items created by members throughout Angus.
“They will include, on the Housewives’ side, such things as savoury roulade, almond biscuits, floral art, a fairy tale birthday cake and, on the craft side, articles of Sashiko quilting, hand knitting, beadwork and photography.
“The art section has the theme ‘A Street Scene’ and the Co-operative theme is ‘The Games’.”
As always there will be refreshments served with fresh home baking and also items of home baking for sale.
The show will be open to the public on Friday from 1 to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
The trophies will be presented at the annual prize-giving at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
We will cover a full list of the prize winners in next week’s paper.
