They say life begins at 30 and Elaine Harris had to wait even longer than that to get started on an astonishing modelling career.
The 33-year-old from Inverarity didn’t begin modelling until earlier this year but has already had her pictures shown all over the world.
And she was recently asked to be part of the panel for Top Model UK 2015 - the finals of which she reached in April of this year with more than 4,000 people taking part.
Elaine - who had a little girl almost two years ago - is thrilled with her meteoric rise. She said: “Although I didn’t win [Top Model UK] my career has grown and I am making waves, even though I am not a teenager and I am a new mum.
“I have been lucky enough to have my pictures shown not only in the UK but also in Europe, Australia and USA in some amazing campaigns.”
Harris was selected to walk in London Fashion Week and is to be the subject of stories in top magazines like Prima and New Magazine.
She has even had her story shared by Model Alliance in New York.
Elaine is breaking all of the age rules in an industry that almost exclusively sees people begin in their teens, an inspirational sight for people that are told they’re too old to do something - be it modelling or otherwise.
She got her break after she took part in a bridal shoot to help out a photographer friend.
The shoot won a competition before Elaine reached the final of Tom Model UK.
