WOMAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT NEAR FINAVON

A WOMAN has died after the red Ford Fiesta she was a passenger in was involved in a collision on the A90 north of Finavon in Angus at about 3.40 pm on Wednesday (today).

Ambulance services, Tayside Fire and Rescue, as well as Tayside Police, were quickly in attendance, but tragically the woman, who is understood to be in her thirties, was declared dead at the scene, near to Noranbank Farm.

She has not been formally identified at this time.

Three other people, a man in his 40s and two girls, thought to be aged ten and three-years-old, have been taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where their injuries are being assessed.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision, which has resulted in the closure of the southbound carriageway and significant tailbacks in both directions.

Diversions are now in place. Crash investigators are in attendance to carry out enquiries into the full set of circumstances surrounding the incident.

Tayside Police appeal for anyone who saw the red-coloured Ford Fiesta prior to the collision, or who witnessed the incident itself to contact 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.
