THE FORFAR Branch of the RNLI is delighted to announce that Mary White is to receive the Silver Honorary Award in recognition of her individual service to the charity.
It will be presented at the RNLI’s Scottish annual general meeting in Perth in early July.
Mary is currently Flag Day Organiser for the branch. She joined the local fund-raising branch in 1989 and over the years has served in a number of roles - treasurer, vice-chairman and chairman from 2005 to 2007.
Over this time she has been fully committed to all the fund-raising activities of the branch which include flag days, fashions shows, floral art demonstrations, race nights and dances.
The RNLI relies totally on donations and the fund raising efforts of inland branches such as Forfar are highly valued.
The volunteer crews rely on to support the running of a station for a week which costs over £4,000.
