POLICE SEEK WITNESSES TO FORFAR ASSAULT

POLICE in Forfar are appealing for witnesses after a 43-year -ld man was assaulted and knocked to the ground in Coutties Wynd, Forfar earlier this week.

The assault happened about 1 am on Monday.

The victim, who is described as heavy built, was conveyed by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital.

He suffered bruising and a cut to his face and was released after treatment.

Police are seeking to trace a man described as 25 to 40 years old, six feet tall with short cropped hair, wearing a white 'T'shirt, who was seen in the area at the time.

Anyone who saw the assault, or who has any information that could help to trace the man wearing the white 'T' shirt, should call Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to two women who were nearby at the time of the incident.

Information can also be passed anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
