Do you think local children are missing out due to the demise of the potato picking squads?
Yes. It's a shame they don't have that opportunity to earn money and have fun because when we did it we all had fun.
Anne Bell, Charleston Village.
I don't think so. I don't think they would do it anyway as it's a totally different ball game now. I remember going to the tatties as I wanted to save up to buy a watch. I was determined to do it. My sons both went to the tatties and it was great fun. There's not the opportunity now so, in a way, the kids are missing out.
Avril Simpson, Forfar.
I wasn't brought up here so didn't go to the tatties, but I would think it would keep the kids out of trouble. It would save them hanging around the streets.
Julie Hoskins, Forfar.
I would say so. It was handy for pocket money and it was also healthy.
Ronald Silverstone, Kirriemuir.
