MELLISSA PIN POINTS PETER

PETER Pan fanatic Mellissa Conroy from Ashington, Northumberland is the winner of the grand prize in our extremely popular Pin Point Peter competition, which ran for four months during the summer (Forfar Dispatch 26.08.10)

Fans around the world were smitten with our fun, national on-line competition which received almost 8,000 entries.

Run by Angus County Press and sponsored by Angus Ahead, The National Trust for Scotland and Monarch of the Glen Park, it was supported by nine other advertisers.

Entrants were asked to hunt down the boy who never grew up as he made an appearance in various locations - and Mellissa (24) was addicted!

As the winner of a week's family break in a luxury caravan at the South Links Holiday Park, Montrose, she said: "I was Googling on-line and came across what seemed like a really fun game.

"I was on it loads of times; every time I was on-line I had a go and it became a bit addictive!

"It was good fun looking to see where Peter would pop up.

"I loved the story of Peter Pan when I was growing up and worked in the Disney store. I loved the competition but never imagined I'd scoop the star prize.

"I've been to Scotland before but only as far as Edinburgh. I love the countryside, cycling and walking so this is my perfect holiday.

"Thanks for running such a great competition."

Mellissa, who works in Monsoon in The Metro Centre in Newcastle, is hoping to take her week's break with her boyfriend next summer.

Pin Point Peter proved such a hit that it attracted almost 8,000 entries.

Throughout the four months there was a weekly prize of six tickets to any National Trust for Scotland property.

We had entries from 20 countries including the United States, Argentina, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands, with prize-winners from Kirriemuir, Norfolk, Middlesex, the Isle of Lewis, Stenhousemuir, Larbert, Banchory, Livingston, Irvine, Tyne and Wear, Cheshire, Edinburgh, Bury and finally Mellissa from Northumberland.
