Junior piping competition back in Kirrie

The annual Strathmore Open Junior Piping Competition in Kirriemuir is to take place this year on Saturday, February 25.

The event had to be cancelled last year due to unforeseen circumstances outwith the organisers’ control.

This year the date and the venue have both been changed, with Webster’s High School the new venue.

The contest was usually held in April but, with so many other events taking place in the same month it has been difficult to find a date that did not clash with something else.

This will be the 29th time the competition has been held and the organisers are hoping for a good number of entrants to make full use of the new venue.

The admission for anyone who wishes to be a spectator is £3.

Competition entry forms can be found on the City of Brechin Pipe Band website www.cobpb.co.uk in the What’s on section.
