Free self-help rural workshops
Insight Counselling, a local charity, are planning to run a series of free self help workshops for residents of rural Angus.
Proposed groups, starting this week are:-
Working with creativity to improve wellbeing - a six week course aimed at individuals who would like to challenge pre-existing images of themselves.
By exploring and experimenting with creativity we can enjoy new experiences of ourselves, challenge self-criticism and gain personal insight.
The course will focus upon learning relaxation exercises, and using different arts mediums such as drawing, painting, and clay to explore creativity and in doing so participants will experience personal insight, reduced feelings of stress and improve feelings of wellbeing.
The course runs from Saturday, January 28 until Saturday, March 3 from 10.30 am to 12.30 in Kirriemuir.
Anxiety Management Group - a nine week course aimed at individuals who are living with anxiety to the point that it is affecting their ability to live a full and meaningful life.
Within a group setting the mechanics of anxiety will be explored: how it affects our physical and mental health: our thinking processes and behaviours and coping mechanisms and skills to reduce and manage anxiety will be learnt and shared.
The first course starts on Monday, January 30 until Monday, March 26 from 6 pm to 8 pm in Forfar.
A second course, which will take place in Kirriemuir, will commence on Saturday, May 12 until Saturday, June 23 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
The workshops are limited to a maximum of 12 participants, so if you are interested, or would like further information please contact Fiona on 01241 447820 (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday only) as soon as possible.
