Forfar meeting for event organisers to share experiences

The NEXT Angus Event Organisers Network will be held on Thursday, February 7 when organisers will share experiences to help with the running of their events.

Guest speakers at the February event will be Jacqui Semple, civil contingencies manager, Angus Council, who will talk about steps to make events safe and legal and Fergus Storrier, Tayside Police who will cover issues such as community policing at events and Focus on Alcohol.

The meeting will be held at Angus House, Forfar, and coffee and refreshments will be served from 6 p.m. to allow those attending to talk to others, prior to the start of the meeting at 6.30 p.m.

The Angus Event organisers’ network aims to encourage any organisation based in Angus which runs events, large and small, in the area to come together, share experiences and offers an opportunity to hear from relevant speakers to help improve the running of their event.

Anyone with questions, issues, or good experiences to share on these topics is welcome to attend the meeting.

Information is available at http://www.angusahead.com/Event-Organisers and groups can be listed on the Angus Ahead site.

The Organisers Network also hosts a closed FaceBook group which organisations can join.

For details of this and any other information about the network, or to book a place at the event on February 7, contact Alison Smith, senior external funding officer, on 01307 473222 or email externalfunding@angus.gov.uk
