BURST DON STREET WATER MAIN REPAIRED

SCOTTISH Water have repaired a burst pipe which caused some households in Forfar and Kirriemuir to be without a supply for part of Tuesday.

Workers examining a sink-hole in Don Street accidentally damaged a pipe, but workers for Scottish Water redistributed the mains network to restore the supply. The damaged water main was repaired by early Tuesday evening.

A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: "Scottish Water engineers redistributed the local water mains network in Forfar after external contractors burst a trunk main whilst completing repairs to a damaged road surface.

"The water main was repaired by the early evening with only a handful of customers out of supply for that length of time. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to customers who were affected by this burst."
