BINGO SUCESS FOR LRP ACTION GROUP

THE hard work of the LRP action group received a great financial boost last Tuesday evening with a successful bingo tea.

Some 500 was raised for the on-going work of the group which was set up two years ago to create a sense of community in the Lordburn, Restenneth and Pitreuchie areas of Forfar.

Following the fund-raiser Ann Hattersley, group chairman, thanked all those who helped make the evening such a success which will go a long way to introduce a number of projects for the area.

She said: "We raised 500 which is very good in this climate."

The money will now be used to support future events.

These will include a logo competition for local children, and the formation of a football team for youngsters in the area.

Enquiries are being made for suitable football strips, there are plans for the youngsters to visit Station Park and a football match is to be arranged between Glens United.

Group members are also looking forward to the Beautiful Scotland awards ceremony in Glenrothes on September 22.

A children's Christmas party is also being arranged and community notice boards are to be purchased.
