Angus band makes welcome return to Kirrie

KIRRIEMUIR has another event in store for the avid, local music lover this Saturday when Maxwell’s Dead make a welcome return to the town.

The local Angus band will be back for the first time since the almighty 2012 ‘DD8 Kirrie Ska Fest’ and have every intention of showing everyone at Buddie’s Nightclub in St Malcolm’s Wynd that this will be a party to start off 2013 in style. Maxwell’s Dead are known for their impeccable hybrid between fun loving ska music with “down to the bit” yet melodic punk riffs and uplifting harmonies.

They draw a heavy influence from bands like The Clash, Rancid and NOFX.

From midnight onwards The Level Up DJ’S, who offer one of the finest independent nights to hit Dundee spinning electro, techno, house, drum and bass beats and everything few and far between, will be making a very special appearance at the club as well. Other guests will be playing from 9 p.m. and the entry price is £5.

This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to hear a bit of punk rock or ska, whether nostalgic or from today’s thriving underground scene.
