A different sight in Castle Street

THE PEOPLE of Forfar were treated to an unusual sight last Thursday as two Scimitar tanks made their way through the town.

En route to Arbroath the tanks, manned by members of the T.A. and the British Army stopped by the Forfar Dispatch office for a visit.

You may remember that the Dispatch published a picture two weeks ago of the town’s very own ‘War Horse’ which was part of the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry. After seeing the picture, current members decided to drop by to show us the very different mode of transport that they use today.

As a crowd of on-lookers gathered alongside the tanks in Castle Street, Lance Cpl. Shaun Donley and Corporal Clive Parker explained that they enjoyed going out, meeting the public and passing on their experiences of life in the T.A as part of a nationwide recruitment drive. For more information about the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry or joining the T.A please call 01334 656155.
