A charity fund-raiser which was almost washed out twice by the weather has been given a last-minute reprieve.

Scotland’s Americana will go ahead as planned this weekend following its postponement from July 4 thanks to the owners of Forfar Mart.

The event, in aid of local equine charity SaddleUp Ranch, was called off after torrential rain waterlogged the showground at Padanaram.

With little chance to dry out, the condition of the field was again causing concern but after hearing about the charity’s problem, mart owners Lawrie & Symington stepped in to offer the mart as an all-weather venue.

With all proceeds going to SaddleUp Ranch the event, between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, promises a lively and colourful fusion of classic American cars and bikes, Western riding, live music, craft and trade stalls.
