Kirriemuir is gearing up for Christmas in style again this year with the popular ‘late night shopping’ event on Wednesday, December 3.
This is when the magic of Christmas comes into its own, with the town lit up and the businesses and galleries in and around the centre opening late to welcome customers.
Most businesses in the town will stay open from 6pm to 9pm, with many offering customers mulled wine, shortbread and other festive refreshments.
Liz Ryder, of Joshua Plumtree Gift and Garden Shop, said: ”The late night shopping is always on the first Wednesday in December and this year it is on December 2.
“The usual shops and business around the town are taking part and we’ve got some nice new shops which have opened this year too.
“We were very busy last year with lots of people making an evening of it.
“St Mary’s Church Carol Singers and Friends will go round the shops singing a few carols to add a bit of atmosphere.
“Some of the town’s coffee shops and galleries are also opening up late for the evening.”
The late night shopping event has run for a number of years with shoppers enjoying the social event.
It is ideal for those who work out of town and can’t get to the local shops during the week.
