Kirrie vets take on Lake District challenge

A small group from the Thrums Veterinary Group are taking part in a daunting 24 hour challenge in the lake district in September to raise funds for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

They are taking part in the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association Coniston Challenge in the Lake District when they will hike, bike, kayak and climb.

The team members are Colin Barr, Sarah Martin, Helen Munday, Emma Milne, Carol Nelson, Moray Davidson, David Barr, Liam Wilkie and Phil Collins. The challenge consists of a 10km hike up Old Man of Coniston, 12km bike ride through Grizedale Forest, one mile kayak up Coniston water and finally a climbing wall challenge.

All of the challenges are to be completed on Saturday, September 8.

The group has organised a charity fund-raising quiz which is being held in the Northmuir Hall, Kirriemuir this Saturday, 7.00pm for 7.30pm. Teams of four are invited at £5 per person. Snacks will be provided on the night, along with a bar and a raffle. Home-made fudge will also be on sale on the night from Caked ‘n’ Fudge, run by team member Emma Milne. All proceeds from the night are going towards the team’s sponsorship for the challenge.

If you are not able to go along but would like to sponsor the team there are sponsor forms at all three surgeries and on their JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/THRUMS-VETERINARY-GROUP
