Kirrie man on attempted murder charge

A 36-year-old Kirriemuir man appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday, in connection with an attempted murder charge.

John Wallace, of Bank Street, Kirriemuir, is facing a petition alleging attempted murder and three separate charges of assault, all involving the use of a knife, after an alleged incident in St. Malcolm’s Wynd on Sunday.

Wallace is also charged with breach of the peace and possession of a knife.

He made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.

A motion for bail was refused by Sheriff Kevin Veal.
