Kirriemuir will start the countdown to Christmas when the town’s festive lights are switched on this Saturday.
There will be a Christmas Market in the Square from noon to 5 pm with a range of local stall-holders offering information, crafts and goods.
Stalls will be situated on Little Roods and Cumberland Close with music from Forfar Instrumental Band during the afternoon on the Square.
The lights will be switched on at 4.30pm with Santa arriving shortly afterwards
As well as the market, that will be running from noon, there will be live seasonal music in the Square from the DD8 Music Youth group from 1pm.
This will be followed by Forfar Instrumental Brass playing from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
There will be fantastic selection of craft and gift stalls, and delicious food in the shape of hot crepes and a hog roast.
There will be also be a Santa’s grotto open in the new community hub “Kirrie Connections” – based in the old access office off the Square.
Santa will be there from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
There is a suggested donation of £3 to visit Santa, and all proceeds will be going towards next year’s Christmas lights fund.
From 2017 the Christmas lights will be funded from the community so all money raised from this year’s market will be going towards next year’s display.
Santa will arrive in the Square at 4pm to turn the Christmas tree lights on.
