Forfar recruitment consultants KBM Resourcing are preparing to take on a Highland challenge this weekend to raise money for children’s charity Barnardo’s.
The 10-strong team, including the company’s two directors John and Vicky Kirkland, are hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for the charity with three gruelling races during the course of the summer.
The group has already cycled 40 miles around the Isle of Mull – predictably in the pouring rain - and is now set to take part in the Perth Kilt Run this Saturday (August 8).
They are aiming to finsih off their fund-raising effort by cycling or running the Highland Perthshire Marathon in Aberfeldy on September 5.
Team member Rebecca Drinkwater said that the team undertakes an active event or challenge annually - last year’s being a mountain climb in the Alps – and often choose charity events.
She continued: “However, we chose to fund-raise for Barnardo’s Scotland this year as two colleagues have family members who work for the charity and we therefore have first-hand knowledge of all the great work they do in the local area.
“We wanted to be able to help as much as possible for the children and young people who have much tougher challenges to overcome.”
The team has so far raised more than £250 and has set up a fund-raising web page at www.justgiving.com/KBM-Resourcing
All money raised will go towards the vital services Barnardo’s Scotland offers in the Angus and Dundee area, such as its Family Support service in Dundee.
