Despite Saturday’s downpour the annual Kirriemuir Agricultural Show went ahead, although the number of visitors was slightly down.
The morning was designated to the judging of the livestock and horse classes which resulted as follows:

Best Simmental opposite sex to champion – G & M Smith. Best pair of Simmentals bred by exhibitor – G & M Smith. Any other native breed - R. Champion.

Continental Cattle: Continental (any breed) – G & M Smith. Best group of three - G & M Smith; reserve: W. McLaren. Stockman’s Points Cup: tied 3-ways - W. McLaren, W. A. Peters and W. & D. McLaren.
Young Cattle Handler: Best young handler in cattle section – Shona McLaren, Netherton. Section 1 - 1, William Grant, Auchterhouse; 2, Neeve Fraser, Newton of Idvies. Section 2 - 1, Shona McLaren, Netherton; 2, Edward Scott; 3, Lindsay Nelson, Mains of Lundie.
