In my view

SO WHAT did you all think of our Angus Alumni supplement last week?

Some of you have got in touch with us already to tell us what you liked and what you didn’t like - which is brilliant! That is exactly what we were hoping for.

The list wasn’t definitive by any means but I reckon it was a pretty good starting point.

And if you’re anything like me you’ll have learned a whole lot about people you have never even heard of before.

That was my favourite thing about working on it to be honest. There were so many people I’d vaguely heard of, or not even heard of at all, that have come from Angus and done some pretty amazing things.

My absolute favourite was John Ogilby, the 17th century wonder that started out as a dancer, became a translator and then invented the humble road map. What a wonderfully random life.

And, I’m sad to say, I’d never even heard of him before we started work on the supplement.

In our office we were thrilled to have so many names on the list, including the number one - J. M. Barrie.

But it was fascinating to read about the people our colleagues in other offices had been researching too.

So keep the comments coming in and let us know what you think. I know there were some people we missed out but this supplement was just the beginning of the debate.
