WITH the onset of kitten season the local branch of Cats Protection are appealing for offers of homes for the adult cats already in their care.
Last year over 120 unwanted or abandoned kittens were handed in to the branch and it is expected a similar amount will need care this year. To be able to meet this need they must free up space in the foster homes.
Cats aged between seven and 12 are often the hardest to re-home despite having no physical or behavioural problems. There are currently five cats available who would make rewarding and grateful pets.
The group are also hoping to re-home Jenny - a 20-month-old ginger and white female who is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. She needs a peaceful home with an experienced cat owner as she can be a little excitable. She would love a garden where she can play in a home with no other pets or young children.
