WE will soon be working on our latest trip down memory lane which comes in the form of a Bygone Angus publication.
The 2011 issue will be on sale, as usual, in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Packed with stories, photographs and first-hand accounts of how life in Angus has developed over the last half a century, the publication sold well in all the major burghs last year, prompting us to start work on another issue.
To ensure its continued success we are seeking the help of our readers to provide us with a steady flow of old photographs and, where possible, memories of life in town and country in years gone by.
In particular we would like to get our hands on school pics from the late forties-early fifties onwards, sporting teams of yesteryear and perhaps snaps of local opera/drama groups and musical societies rehearsing for their annual productions.
Group shots from works events, special occasions or youth and groups in days gone by would also be welcome.
If you can help, bring your photographs and details into our office at 117-119 Castle Street, between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday, to allow us to scan the pics there and then and return them to your safe keeping immediately.
Alternatively, you can e-mail pics and information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
So get digging into your boxes of memorabilia stashed away in cupboards, wardrobes, or in the attic, and get them to us.
It’s an opportunity to share your memories of yesteryear with other interested readers throughout the county.
