Staff from investment firm Alliance Trust have rallied round to help a Forfar charity clear up after recent flooding damage.
As revealed recently in the Dispatch and Herald, the Murton Trust was facing a significant bill to tidy up its farm and nature reserve areas, just outside the town, after the site’s water level rose by almost six feet during January’s storms.
Staff were forced to take fast action to move the farm’s animals to safety after some of their pens became inundated by flood water.
Staff from the Alliance Trust visited Murton recently to hand over a cheque for more than £900 which will help to repair some of the damage to the pens, fencing and paths
To help fund the repair programme, the trust has set up an appeal through JustGiving.com whereby donations can be made by texting MURT 11 and the amount to 70070.
