YOUNGSTERS involved in a highly successful county-wide youth project are looking forward to their first foray into the world of international motorcycle racing.

Just a couple of years after being established to encourage teenagers into a diversionary initiative to encourage personal development and life skills, the Hedz Up race team will be heading over to the Isle of Man to participate in the Manz GP at the end of this month.

Hedz Up is a familiar sight at Knockhill and East Fortune, with pupils from local secondary schools taking on the roles of race crew.

The 14 to 16-year-olds tackle every part of the running of the race team, headed by Ian Pert.

Our photographer caught up with some of the pupils working, under the watchful eye of Ian Pert, to prepare the bike for its participation in the Manx GP.
