A new local self help group called “Angus Long Term Conditions Support Groups” (ALTCSG) will be holding regular monthly meetings in the Academy Medical Centre Academy Street, Forfar on the last Friday of the month.

The group consists of local people who found attending the self management course of great help as they were able to share things about their conditions and life style in a non-judgmental, understanding, empathetic group, which was out with their family circle, where they were able to discuss their problems freely and gain ideas from others on how to deal with them on a daily basis and offer the same support to each other in a light hearted social meeting of new found friends.

Angus Long Term Conditions Support Groups membership is open to anyone in the Angus area that has at least one long term medical condition, no matter which one, or be a carer of someone who has a long term condition.

They also have a new website which can be found at www.altcsg.org.uk and it contains lots of information about local condition specific support groups, national organisations and charities as well as a signpost links page which they hope to expand in the future, in addition to their website information they are building a lending library of DVD’s, CD’s and other hard copy information which is available to members.

Meetings are also held in, Arbroath on the last Monday of the month, Carnoustie on the last Wednesday of the month, Brechin on the last Thursday of the month,

The next Forfar meeting is on Friday, February 25 at 4 pm, for more information visit the website at www.altcsg.org.uk or e-mail admin@altcsg.org.uk.
