NHS Tayside has launched a new and improved website which has been in development for around two years.

Timed to coincide with World Usability Day, the site has had involvement at every stage from staff, patients, carers and members of the public.

It has been designed to meet the requirements of all website visitors, no matter what device or browser they are using, and to meet accessibility standards.

The site is full of new features including information on all premises as well as what is happening within NHS Tayside and signposting to up-to-date health information and campaigns.

Each hospital page has practical information, including a comprehensive list of direct ward and service telephone numbers which was missing from the old site but which was frequently requested by visitors.

An A-Z of services has been created which will be continually updated as more services develop their pages. It is also easier for people to provide feedback on services and to find information through the enhanced search facility.

Sandy Watson, the health authority’s chairman, said: “I am delighted to see this fantastic new website come to fruition.

“A great deal of work has gone in to creating this site and I am especially grateful to all the patients and members of the public who have given us their time and input throughout the development.”
