A second golf tournament in memory of Forfar woman Lorna Davidson has been organised for next month by her husband.
Stewart Davidson, who organised the inaugural Lorna Davidson Memorial Golf Competition last year, is hoping to build on its success and raise more money for local charity Lippen Care.
He lost his wife to pancreatic cancer in 2013 and arranged the tournament at Brechin Golf Club to raise funds for the charity as it cared for Mrs Davidson towards the end of her life.
It was a resounding success and attracted entries from across the country, raising £3,500. This year’s competition will again be held at Brechin, on Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. and Mr Davidson is keen to build on that success.
He said: “Just like last year we will have a ful complement of teams but I do have a space left for anyone wishing to enter a team. Again local businesses have been keen to come forward and make donations for prizes and also for raffle prizes. I am only too pleased to keep this competition going as not only is it an enjoyable day it is great to be able to raise funds for Lippen Care.”
