MEMBERS of Kirriemuir Community Council were informed that the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee event held in the grounds of Glamis Castle was a great success, attracting a crowd of over 25,000.
Elaine Whittet told last week’s meeting that the purpose of the occasion was to bring many members of the community together.
She said many people, including quite a number from Kirriemuir, worked hard to bring things together.
There were a few hiccups, particularly with parking, and there were lessons to be learned.
Cathy Stephenson suggested one missed opportunity may have been a park and ride facility from Forfar, which could have eased the traffic situation.
