Gambia project boost

GAMBIA PROJECT BOOST: Christie McNicol, a pupil at Webster's High School in Kirriemuir, raised 750 by undertaking a skydive at Errol airfield earlier this year to raise funds for the Kunta Kinteh Nursery in Gambia. Christie, who is on the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, took along her bumper cheque to a recent fund-raising coffee afternoon at the Woodville Inn where she works as a waitress. The Woodville's owner, Jackie Learmonth, set up the nursery which has three classrooms where 90 children aged between four and seven are taught. Jackie came across the school, which was in a horrendous state, during a visit to Gambia and since then has raised funds to build a new block for the children.
