Gallowshade girls take to the catwalk

Weeks of planning and organising by the Gallowshade Girls’ Group made for an exciting evening when they took to the catwalk with their fund-raising fashion show at the Pitstop last Monday.

The group modeled a mixture of Gallowshade designer originals and ‘off the peg’ creations put together by themselves. One of the favorites was a bubble wrap dress inspired by a Lady GaGa creation and modeled with style by Shannon Ledingham.

Another unusual gown was imaginatively put together by the group using a single length of purple lycra, teamed with a black muslin train and modeled sophistically by Logan Balfour Lovegrove.

Toni Vannet put together and modeled two colourful retro 1960s style outfits one complete with a suede boho jacket and green satin heels and the other with a string vest bolero and silver sandals.

Jade Szillat brought a touch of Hollywood to the evening with her black and white outfit complete with hat, cane and moves to match.

Party Sparkle was modeled by Natalia Wieczonek first in a floaty turquoise strappy dress with sequined bodice and later in the must have little black dress. Both outfits were beautifully accessorized with help from Random Recycling in Kirriemuir.

Evanna Rose Ferguson brought a touch of summer to the evening with her day wear and beach-wear wearing a cerise vest top, denim shorts with floral trim matching the pink of her top, two belts - black and silver giving a sparkle to her clothes and black tights with her black ruffled flat pumps.

Finally, Ilona Dmitriteva brought a touch of Disney to the show modelling her Hannah Montana jeans and casual top.

The audience were kept entertained with songs from Toni and Logan, dancing from Evanna and Jade and hip-hop numbers from Brandon Breen.

Our backstage dresser was Cheryl Faye Craig who also lead the mini prize bingo session at the interval with help from Callum O’Brien who also expertly managed music and lighting for the show. Thanks also to Bryce McLellan for all his help.

The show was brought to a close by the star attraction ‘AHLAM’ (Forfar Belly Dancers) who inspired members of the audience to get up and have a go!

The group is supported by Education’s Community Learning and Development Service. For more information on activities after the summer holidays contact Fidelma on 01307 466924.
