THE ROTARY Club of Kirriemuir held a very successful annual Duck Race on Easter Sunday.
Plenty of folk turned out to the event at the Kirriemuir Den racing their ducks to help raise around £2,000 for worthy causes both here and overseas.
The ‘pundits’ braved the remaining snow and chilly conditions on the day and a good time was had by all.
The day went swimmingly with children, and adults, from all over Angus racing their ducks in the cold waters of the Gairie Burn.
Rotarian James Arnott was on hand as the official duck chaser, making sure none of the ducks or ducklings got lost on their way to the finish line!
The winners of the children’s duckling race were Katelyn Smyth who came in first place, Lauren Downie whose duck won her second place and Daniel Milne whose wee duckling scooped him third place.
The winners of the main duck race were Mike Strathearn whose duck came in at the top spot, Mrs Searles who won second place and Murray Stork’s duck which crossed the finish line in third place.
