On Friday evening, Friends of East & Old Church were delighted to welcome the Condor Military Wives Choir from Arbroath, 10 of whom sang in the church sanctuary.

Over 80 attended and were treated to a selection of modern harmonic pieces and some wartime nostalgia, with Carol Anne Thain conducting. Rehearsals had obviously been thorough with some intricate blending of voices. The choir was thanked by Bob Kidd and presented with a £100 cheque for their funds from Friends.

The evening started with ‘Friends’ members renewing their annual subscription and then settling back to enjoy the music. Half-way through there was a break for refreshments, then church entertainment group Accord took to the stage with a variety of songs, poems and jokes.
