SERVICES are planned for Forfar during World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 4.
Women, men, old and young from around the world are invited to share in this service which will take place from sunrise in the Tonga Islands until sunset over Alaska thirty-six hours later.
Bearing in mind the horrific earthquake which occurred off the coast of Chile on February 27 last year it is highly appropriate that the world-wide service this year has been written by Christian women of Chile.
Taking as its theme “How many leaves have you?” the service of 2011 looks at those in countries where food and possessions are in abundance, and sets that against places where people are poor and starving.
In Forfar there will be World Day of Prayer Services at Strathmore Court, Kirkton Place, Forfar at 2 pm and at St. Margaret’s Church at 7 pm on Friday, March 4.
