Forfar community survey to find out valuable information

AS PART of the Your Forfar discussions that have been taking place in the town, a number of community groups took part in an excellent discussion on March 19 to talk about community facilities and resources in Forfar.

As part of this discussion, participants heard about and discussed the proposals for a new Community Campus at Forfar Academy, a Community Sport Hub, the current consultation on the possible redevelopment of St Margaret’s Church, and ideas for the future use of the old Chapelpark Primary School buildings.

As there are so many proposals and opportunities currently being considered, it was agreed that it would be useful to contact all known community groups, clubs and organisations in the area, in order to get information about venues that are currently used and their long-term suitability.

In short, it would be helpful to know what groups in Forfar currently use, in terms of venues and resources, and what they need going forward, with this information being used to inform the proposals mentioned above.

Therefore, a small group of community organisations have met to develop a contact list of groups in the Forfar area and a short survey, designed to get this valuable information. The survey was recently sent out and anyone receiving it is encouraged to complete it by Friday, May 17.

Clubs and organisations that were missed from the list can contact Lee Haxton on 01307 474788 or alternatively complete the survey online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/forfarcommunitysurvey2013
