THE FOCUS on Alcohol Angus partnership has launched an initiative to encourage individuals and groups to put forward their ideas to tackle the problem of misuse of alcohol.
Small grants will be made available to develop and run approved projects suggested by organisations and individuals throughout the county.
Robert Peat, chairman of the Angus Alcohol and Drugs Partnership, said: “The fund has been established to encourage people to come forward with innovative, different ideas to solve alcohol issues.
“Grants are available up to the value of £750, and we hope to see ideas that are different, creative and most importantly, which could work to help people think about how they drink alcohol themselves, or indeed how alcohol can be viewed more positively within their community.
“I would like to encourage everyone who is interested in applying to think outside the box so we can support creative thinking about this issue.
“I am sure the results will be worthwhile.”
Eileen McArthur of Focus on Alcohol Angus added: “We will follow up each successful application for a project with an evaluation.
“This will help us test out further how things can be done differently in relation to the misuse of alcohol.”
