A flood alert and two flood warnings have been issued for the Angus area - as yet more rain arrives in the county.

The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency has put in place a flood alert for the Angus and Dundee area as heavy rain is expected to lead to a risk of flooding to low lying land and roads from rivers and surface water during the day. Peak water levels are likely to occur during the day although will remain high into Wednesday. However, SEPA has said that the levels are not expected to be as high as they were at the start of the year.

Kinnaird/Bridge of Dun and Finavon and Tannadice have both been given a flood warning, with a risk of flooding to low lying properties and low lying agricultural land. Flood alerts can be viewed on SEPA’s website.

The Met Office currently has a yellow ‘be alert’ weather warning in place for rain, which is valid until 3pm this afternoon. However, a second yellow weather warning has been issued for Wednesday, starting at 3am and remaining in place until noon.
