The festive spirit will be in abundance this Saturday in the Strathmore Hall at Forfar Mart as the Angus Farmers’ Market brings over 35 producers to their monthly market.
The stalls will be packed with fantastic quality produce with a great variety of food, drink and country crafts.
There will be many producers with special Christmas packs and hampers that can be tailor made to suit the person you are buying for so you are sure to get the best combination.
If you are looking for something a little different for your Christmas dinner you will find many tasty alternatives to the traditional turkey - maybe a buffalo roast, some first class game or a special treat this month - Hebridean mutton.
Puddledub Pork is one of the most popular stalls at the market and if you need to pick up first class sausages, hams and roasts you can buy them on the day. You you also order for collection at the Christmas market on December 20.
The loyalty card draw will be made this Saturday at the close of the market; customers with six stamps on their card can enter at the market information stall. The prize is a fantastic £150 in market vouchers. If you don’t yet have six stamps you can still get a chance to win with the next draw in June 2015.
The farmers’ market is a family shopping experience and the children will be able to make some Christmas biscuits with resident chef Hayley Wilkes. Chef Hayley is also making Thai fishcakes that can be made ahead and frozen for future meals, as well as a warming stew using wonderful and succulent Highland beef.
All in all another great way to spend your Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Further details at www.angusfarmersmarket.co.uk
