IN THESE days of technological wizardly, there seems to be no escaping the minute by minute updates on what is happening in the world.

We have news delivered 24/7, either via our ‘phones, Ipads, computer screens or television sets.

We have Facebook and Twitter - great social networking tools which give instant comments and feedback to breaking news.

As a local journalist, I cut my teeth on newspapers at the Forfar Dispatch way back in 1980 - and from day one I held the paper and the community it serves close to my heart - I’m still passionate about ‘The Squeaker’. as it is affectionately known.

We have come a long way since the days of the broadsheet, the introduction of photographs, the change to tabloid and then full colour.

We have websites for the Forfar Dispatch and Kirriemuir Herald which are read all over the world.

We are now on the threshold of a new era.

We are busy working on plans to relaunch our papers and, whilst we have a number of ideas, we recognise you, our loyal readers, can play an important part in shaping our future as we bring your local news, in whatever format, into your lives.

So please let us know what you would like to see included in your local paper. We truly value any comments and will strive to deliver the goods, wherever possible.
