A 66-year-old Angus haulage contractor lost his life in a road accident east of Meigle on Friday afternoon.
David Murray from Carnoustie was killed when his red and silver coloured MV Agusta motorcycle was in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Vectra on the A94, at the junction with the unclassified road to Kirkinch at around 1.25 pm.
Mr Murray was well-known in the haulier business and was described as being very active in his local community as well as a devoted family man.
The car driver has been released after being treated at Ninewells Hospital but two passengers are still being treated for their injuries.
Tayside Police are continuing enquiries in relation to the incident and are keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle shortly before.
In particular, officers are keen to trace the driver of a silver coloured motor car travelling West on the A94 who may have seen the motorcycle shortly before the collision.
Anyone with information should call 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.
